“We are thirsty for His peace, His deep rest, soul rest that remains true regardless of our circumstances. And we cannot find this peace in the world or in our outward circumstances. This peace can only be found in the person of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, who meets us in our turmoil, who is unchanged by the chaos of our world or the fluctuation of our emotions.”
Safe All Along is an invitation from Katie Davis Majors to fully trust in the Lord, laying aside the worries of this life and the distractions that surround us to embrace the peace that comes in our good Father’s presence. The subtitle, Trading Our Fears and Anxieties for God’s Unshakable Peace, does a wonderful job of summing the book up.

“I want a peace that permeates my life and flows out of it. I want a peace that settles down over my heart so that even as the world around me is pulled apart, my thoughts and emotions are fixed on a constant savior, a sure eternity, and a certainty that we are safe in His hands. “
Katie’s books are candid, gently sharing the truth that the Lord has taught her, even when she’s still in the struggle, and this one is no different! In Safe All Along, Katie urges you to keep trusting the Lord, even when you can’t see the end of the struggle, when things look hopeless, or when you’re simply exhausted by the cycle of worrying and what-ifs. Katie shares personal struggles she has had and is having in this area, and by her stories, she gives gentle shoves, urging you to leave your baggage of worries behind and step into the arms of our Almighty God who has been holding us all along.

“I want to be able to breathe deeply and keep my bouncing knee and my fidgeting fingers still because I know that Jesus is in the boat with me, no matter the storm I’m facing. As I attune my heart to His, I can have a peace that transcends all circumstances, that overcomes the world.”
In Safe All Along, by personal stories and gentle teaching, Katie continually reiterates the need for us to cast ourselves wholeheartedly on our savior. Only when we have given ourselves to Him for Him to keep, will we have peace in this world. Peace is found in his presence.

“When He says, “My peace I give you,” He-our deliverance and salvation-is also saying, I will be with you. He is Immanuel, God with us. He will be with us in the rapids. He is with us in the boat. Peace is ours because our deliverance and salvation come from Him. He Himself is our peace.
Katie has done a phenomenal job writing Safe All Along. Her writing is scripturally solid, sharing the truth in love. I can wholeheartedly recommend Safe All Along to anyone looking for a new read.

“The life that God has planned for us likely won’t be all still waters and calm quiet– “In this world you will have trouble”–but He will be with us in the waves, in the rapids, in the storms. He will be our peace.”
