The Broken Way Book Review

The Broken Way by Ann Voskamp is an honest and intimate look at what could happen if we placed all of the pain, the hurt, and the broken that is in our hearts into the hands of our suffering Savior. Ann tenderly opens up her heart in The Broken Way and dares the reader to do the same. To take the daring path of letting go, right into an abundant, Christ-filled life.

In The Broken Way Ann uses stories from her life to encourage and remind the reader that they can find healing in the Savior’s hands. The same hands that were broken and nailed to a tree for us. She reminds us that He was crushed for our iniquities, that he was broken so that our hearts may be healed, that he is a true high priest for us, one who can sympathize with our every weakness and is always interceding for us before the throne of God above. The Broken Way is a dare to forgive, a dare to embrace the brokenness, and a dare to kiss the waves that dash you upon the rock of Christ.

One thing that I really appreciated in The Broken Way is the tender, and yet very plain way that Ann shares truth within the pages of her book. As she deals tenderly with hurting hearts, she lovingly shares the truth that needs to be said. Because she shares from experience, Ann’s words are compassionate and piercingly true and honestly raw.
