Everyone in my house loves a special teatime snack when it’s read aloud time, and these Chocolate Chip Cookies are a definite favorite! Easy to make and not super time consuming, these are easy to whip up quickly before afternoon tea!
Ingredients:
- 1 ⅓ cups softened butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 3 ¾ cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 package semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
- Cream butter, sugar, and brown sugar together in a stand mixer or with hand held mixer in a large bowl.
- Add vanilla and eggs to the mixture and mix until well incorporated.
- Mix the dry ingredients together in a separate bowl before adding to the wet ingredients.
- Mix on low until just incorporated and stir the bag of chocolate chips into the dough.
- Drop by the tablespoon approx. 2 inches apart onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden. Cookies will look doughy when finished baking. DO NOT over bake!
- Cool and enjoy with a cup of tea, (or a cup of milk if you’re so inclined!) and a good book!
