Great Aunt Jane’s Chocolate Chip Cookies- Teatime Recipe

Everyone in my house loves a special teatime snack when it’s read aloud time, and these Chocolate Chip Cookies are a definite favorite! Easy to make and not super time consuming, these are easy to whip up quickly before afternoon tea!

Ingredients:

  • 1 ⅓ cups softened butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 ¾ cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 package semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Cream butter, sugar, and brown sugar together in a stand mixer or with hand held mixer in a large bowl.
  3. Add vanilla and eggs to the mixture and mix until well incorporated.
  4. Mix the dry ingredients together in a separate bowl before adding to the wet ingredients.
  5. Mix on low until just incorporated and stir the bag of chocolate chips into the dough.
  6. Drop by the tablespoon approx. 2 inches apart onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden. Cookies will look doughy when finished baking. DO NOT over bake!
  8. Cool and enjoy with a cup of tea, (or a cup of milk if you’re so inclined!) and a good book!
